Behind the Gate #9: Yumena Berning

This BTG focuses on one of the fastest kids in the country. Yumena is always working hard to expand her skillset and is not afraid to push herself. She is the perfect example of our slogan "Comfort favors the weak". She has a great family support system and they have given her an excellent foundation to build on. How long have you been riding and when did you start racing: Yumena has been riding for 2.5 years and started racing when she was 5.  

Favorite place to ride: Diablo MX is my favorite local track but Ponca City and Freestone are my favorite national tracks.

What accomplishment are you most proud of: Winning the 51cc (4-6) title at the 2022 James Stewart Freestone Spring Championship. Also, she just placed 2nd in the 51cc (4-6) at Ponca. She was one ofn2 girls in the class and the only one from California! Yumena has also qualified for Loretta's as an AMA5 and AMA6.

What is your favorite non-moto activity: School, dance, and making bracelets.

Goals for 2023 and beyond: My goal is to win the 51cc (4-6) class and get top 10 on my Sr. in the 51cc (4-8) class at Mini O's.

Who do you look up to and why: I look up to Kyleigh Stallings and Lachlan Turner because they are both really fast and can hang with the boys.
